The Department of Fire Prevention offers many public education programs, one being fire extinguisher training. This training provides an overview of how fire burns, types of fire, identifying the correct type of fire extinguisher for the type of fire, inspection of the fire extinguisher to ensure proper function, and how to use the extinguisher using the PASS (Pull Pin, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) method.
